NID Regulations



  • Students with qualifications sufficient for the course of study proposed may be admitted provided they have reached the age of 16/17 years on the first year of the admission
  • For admission to the NID Paralegal studies programme, candidates must satisfy the entrance requirements of the Institute.
  • Students upon admission shall pay to the Institute the prescribed fees and register as students of the Institute, present birth certificate or declaration of age, documentary evidence of examination qualification for scrutiny at the admissions office.
  • A candidate may be required to attend an interview in the institute or any similar test may be conducted to assess students' eligibility.
  • The Institute reserves the right to accept or reject an application for admission to a particular course of study


For the purpose of awarding the National Innovative Diploma in Paralegal Studies, the students work shall include Continuous Assessment (C.A), examinations (oral and written), term papers presentation, Assignment and student industrial work experience (SIWES).

The grading of each of the components shall be as follows:
  • Foundation Courses - 10%
  • General Studies - 15 %
  • Professional/Core Courses - 50%
  • Industrial Attachment - 25%
  • TOTAL 100%
